ODF 1.3、OASIS委員会標準として承認

OASISは、OpenDocument TC（技術委員会）からのOpen Document Format for Applications (OpenDocument) v1.3がOASIS委員会標準（OASIS Committee Specification）として承認されたことを案内できて嬉しく思います。

OpenDocument Formatはオフィスアプリケーション向けのオープンなXMLベースのドキュメントファイルフォーマットで、テキスト、表計算、グラフ、図形などを含むドキュメントに用いられます。OpenDocument Format v1.3は、ISO（国際標準化機構；International Organization for Standardization）によってISO/IEC 26300として2015年に承認された、国際標準であるバージョン1.2の更新となります。OpenDocument v1.3はドキュメントのセキュリティについての改善、仕様不足であったところの明確化、その他タイムリーな改善を含んでいます。

OpenDocument FormatはオープンなXMLベースのアプリケーション独立かつプラットフォーム独立なデジタルドキュメントファイルフォーマットの特性、そしてそのようなドキュメントを読み込み、書き込み、処理するソフトウェアアプリケーションの特性も指定しています。一般的にパーソナル生産性ソフトウェアアプリケーション（※）により用いられる、テキストドキュメント、表計算、プレゼンテーショングラフィック、ドロー、グラフ、あるいはこれに類するものを含むドキュメントの作成、編集、閲覧、交換および保存に適用できます。

※訳注）いわゆるオフィスアプリケーションのことですが、「オフィス」に限定しないためこのような呼び方をしています。

この委員会標準（Committee Specification）はOASISの成果物であり、技術委員会（TC）により完成され承認されて、テストおよび実装の準備が完全に整っています。
